Ngurdoto Crater
Nestled in Arusha National Park, Ngurdoto Crater—often called the “Little Ngorongoro”—is a stunning volcanic caldera about 3 km wide and 100 meters deep. Its forested walls surround a lush swampy floor teeming with wildlife.

Fig Tree Arch

The Fig Tree Arch is one of Arusha National Park’s most iconic natural formations—a massive, hollow arch formed by a strangler fig that grew around an older host tree. Over decades, the fig’s roots wrapped, tightened, and fused, slowly engulfing the original tree until only the magnificent arch remained.
Standing beneath it feels like stepping into a natural cathedral. The enormous roots twist and curl above you in dramatic shapes, forming patterns that look almost hand-crafted.
