Preparation and Travel

Step 2

Day One: Arrival

At Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will meet our staff and transferred to Moshi for Kilimanjaro trekking and Arusha Mt. Meru trekking. You'll receive a detailed and friendly briefing about your trek, giving you an ideal opportunity to pick up any essential gear you may have missed. Additionally, your guide will share valuable other info for the trek ahead

Step 3

The Trek Begins

You will need to complete mandatory registration and clearance at the entry gate, and once you have finalized the activity, you can begin your mountain trekking adventure. Depending on the route chosen, the trekking trail starts amidst lush greenery and stunning vistas, and if you are lucky, you might catch a glimpse of some wildlife along the way. Enjoy your trek!

Daily Trekking Schedule

Day 1: Arrival and Preparation

  • Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

  • Transfer to Moshi for trek preparation.

Day 2: Moshi to Machame Gate, Trek to Machame Camp

  • Drive to Machame Gate (1,800m).

  • Begin trekking through a lush rainforest.

  • Overnight at Machame Camp (3,000m).

Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

  • Trek through heath and moorland landscapes.

  • Overnight at Shira Camp (3,840m).

Day 4: Shira Camp to Lava Tower, Descend to Barranco Camp

  • Trek to Lava Tower (4,630m) for acclimatization.

  • Descend to Barranco Camp (3,976m).

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

  • Climb the Barranco Wall for a thrilling start.

  • Trek to Karanga Camp (4,035m).

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

  • Trek to Barafu Camp (4,673m) in preparation for the summit.

  • Early dinner and rest.

Day 7: Summit to Uhuru Peak, Descend to Mweka Camp

  • Midnight summit push to Uhuru Peak (5,895m).

  • Descend to Mweka Camp (3,080m) for rest.
